Cybercriminals pose as a person or organization trusted by the employee. This can lead an unsuspecting employee to fall into the trap. What can happen? Typically, a harmful link or attachment is clicked, but payment fraud is also a risk due to the payment of a fake invoice.

Various data points in the email are compared with an extensive registry of trusted companies. This includes checking the email address, logo, and personal name. The registry can be expanded with company-specific relationships such as customers and suppliers. Upon recognizing a false identity, the user is alerted.
